Henna Brows: How To Pick The Right Color?
1. Know the Colors
Honey: fairly warm blonde shade, for ladies (and gentlemen of course) with light brows and light skin. On skin with warm undertones, the shade becomes more honey-like than on cool skin. Mix Honey with Taupe for a nice, slightly darker blonde shade. But there are also brow stylists who use it to make dark colors slightly lighter and warmer.
Taupe: a fine blonde-brown shade, for blonde to dark blonde brows on light to medium skin. Or mix Taupe with a dot of Ash Brown to make it even darker and more ashy.
Hazelnut: this is the only color from Dyotics with a warm undertone. So this color is ideal for people with warm undertones or green eyes.
Natural Brown: a natural brown effect, for eyebrows on light to medium skin. Natural Brown is the most popular and common color, and actually looks good on everyone. This color is so perfect that mixing is not really necessary. Do you want the color to be a little more intense and ashy? Natural Brown mixes perfectly with Ash Brown.
Ash Brown: a dark shade with an ashy and cool effect, for tinted to dark skin. Still too light? Add a dot of Raven. Or lighten it slightly with Natural Brown.
Raven: an extra dark shade, especially for eyebrows on dark skin. You can tone down Raven slightly with any color. Yes, even with Honey. But with a knife point lighter, the effect will be minimal because Raven is overpowering. Rather, do 50/50 if you really want to lighten Raven a bit.
2. The Amount Of Eyebrow Hairs
You are not just looking at the natural color of the eyebrows when you are going to determine the color Brow Henna. Because the idea behind brow henna is that you dye eyebrow hairs, but also (no, right!) the skin underneath. This is ideal if someone has sparse brows or bald spots. With brow henna you fill that in nicely. Still, there must be some hair underneath in order for the henna to catch nicely. No more than a light haze will appear on bald skin, which will also fade quickly. Does someone have very full eyebrows? Then the whole thing can become quite intense. Because you're dyeing all those hairs as well as the skin underneath. So how dark a color turns out has a lot to do with the fullness of the natural brow.

Before applying a Henna Brows treatment, it is important to look not only at a client's hairs but also at their skin tone. On light skin, you don't take black even if someone wants dark brows. On a darker skin, it makes no sense to go for blonde henna. In addition, pay attention to skin type. On dry skin, brow henna picks up well, and thus the result will be more intense than when a print is minimal. This is the case with oily skin. On oily skin, brow henna does not pick up well, and is even advised against - to avoid disappointed looks.
Cool Undertones
Skin that has a cool undertone contains less pigment. The skin then usually has a pink complexion, is more sensitive and turns red more quickly. Usually this skin goes together with blue eyes. However, darker skins can also have a cool undertone. For skin with a cool undertone, ash shades of brow henna look best, such as Taupe and Ash Brown. But when it comes to brow henna (or permanent makeup), a cool shade of henna can quickly turn gray.
Warm Undertones
With a warm undertone, there is naturally a reasonable amount of pigment in the skin. Skin with warm undertones is lightly tinted to dark, and people with such skin often have green or brown eyes. Hazelnut often looks beautiful on these people. This is the only Dyotics color with a warm undertone.
