By Ska van Buren

Brow Lamination is the beauty treatment that has captured the hearts of many women in recent years. As a result, it is impossible to imagine the brow bar without the treatment.

After Henna Brows and the Lash Lift, it is the most booked treatment. We at Mrs.Highbrow certainly reflect that in the rising popularity of the luxurious Brow Lamination pens and Lash & Brow Lift pouches.

With Brow Lamination, brow hairs are lifted, making brows appear much wider. Sort of like a lash elevator, but different.

How does Brow Lamination work?

A Brow Lamination treatment involves three steps, with steps 1 and 2 reshaping the hairs, while step 3 serves as a conditioner and important terminator.

  1. There are horizontal sulfur compounds in each hair that determine its position. During the Brow Lamination treatment, these sulfur bonds are temporarily broken by the Lifting Cream 1.
  2. Then the sulfur bonds are rebuilt, causing the hairs to reshape themselves. This is what the Setting Cream (step 2) takes care of.
  3. The third step consists of Nourishing Gel or Serum, to seal and seal the outer layer of a hair.

The Flex Check

It's time to get rid of failed Brow Lamination results! If you've ever dealt withoverprocessed brows, chances are the culprit can be found in the soaking time of Step 1: the Lifting Cream.

How long you should leave Steps 1 and 2 in depends on the thickness of the eyebrow hairs and the type of product you are using. While you will find the recommended number of minutes in the manual, consider this a guide. Sometimes those stubborn, thicker hairs may need a little extra time.

But how do you know what the perfect break-in time is? By performing the Flex Check. In other words, you check to see if the hairs have already become flexible enough to take on a new shape.

How the Flex Check works

  1. Beforehand, you check the hairs and look at the recommended break-in time. For example, set your timer to 6 minutes.
  2. Does your timer go off? Take a brush (toothbrush) and make a swirl motion.
  3. Another method: draw a horizontal line with your toothbrush and brush down the bristles.
  4. Do the hairs move smoothly in all directions? Then the Flex Check is successful.
  5. Are the bristles still stiff? Set your timer for another 30 seconds and replace the foil.
  6. After 30 seconds, do another Flex Check. And so on until the hairs move smoothly along.
  7. Then you can remove lotion 1. For lotion 2, keep the same amount of time as the total number of minutes lotion 1 was absorbed. You do not need to do another check for lotion 2,

Are the hairs moving along smoothly? Then lotion 1 has worked in long enough.
