5 Lash Lift Questions Every Artist Recognises (And The Answers).

Many lash artists face the same challenges. From lashes lifting off the shields to uncertainty about processing times and techniques: discover practical insights and tips for more control and consistent results.

1. Why Do Lashes Come Loose From The Shields?

Lashes usually come loose due to a combination of adhesion, tension and technique. The most common causes are:

  • Insufficient or overly dry Adhesive or Lifting Balm → the lashes do not adhere properly or the adhesive has already set
  • Poor preparation → oil, make-up residue or moisture reduce grip
  • Too little tension on the lashes → they are not positioned tightly enough upwards
  • Incorrect shield size → too large = less hold
  • Stiff or downward-growing lashes → spring back more easily and require extra fixation

You can use Lash Lift Compensators to place over the lashes for additional fixation. This certainly helps, but only if the foundation is correct. If the points above are not in order, compensators will not fully solve the problem.

Sticky Pads can also help: they often provide better grip, allowing the lashes to adhere more easily to the shield.

You place Lash Lift Compensators over Lotion 1 and/or 2 to prevent the lashes from lifting away.

2. How Long Should Lash Lift Lotions Process?

This is one of the questions almost every lash artist feels unsure about.
Yes, the manual gives timings, and you want to follow them. But processing times are guidelines, not fixed rules. Every lash is different, and you need to adjust accordingly.

The Lash Check Is Leading, Not The Timer.

With the lash check, you determine - after the recommended processing time - whether the lash is soft and flexible enough to take on the new shape.

Especially with stiff, thick or downward-growing lashes, a longer processing time is often needed to achieve a good result. What happens a lot in practice is a fear of overprocessing. As a result, the lotion is often removed too early.

3. What Is The Difference Between The Korean Lash Lift And The Classic?

The Korean lash lift has rapidly grown in popularity, and for good reason.

  • The Korean Lifting Lotion 1 is based on cysteamine. This allows you to apply it over the full length of the lash without compromising the quality of the hair.

  • The focus is on root lift rather than just curl. Using a flat shield, you lift the lashes from the base, creating an open, fresh look without harsh transitions.

  • A lifting powder is mixed with the lotion. This provides grip while keeping the lashes flexible, giving you more control and a calmer working process.

Because this technique works differently from a classic lash lift, it also requires a different way of working. If you want to achieve consistent results, it is important to fully understand and master the technique. In the Online Korean Lash Lift Course, we guide you through this step by step.

4. Why Has The Lash Lift Not Taken Properly?

Sometimes you can see it immediately after the treatment: the lift is not strong enough, uneven, or simply has not taken well.

The cause almost always lies in the foundation of the treatment:

  • Processing time for Lotion 1 too short
The lash has not been softened enough to hold the new shape
  • Insufficient fixation (Lotion 2)
The shape is not properly set
  • Incorrect shield choice
Too large = less lift from the root
  • Shield not placed correctly
Too much space between the lash line and the shield
  • Products no longer working optimally
For example, too old, stored incorrectly or opened too often
  • Stiff or downward-growing lashes
These require more time and precision, otherwise the result will drop quickly

5. How Does 1-Shot Lift Work?

1-Shot Lift is a system where you work with one product instead of multiple steps and lotions. It is designed as an addition to your current way of working.

You can use it for both lash lifts and Brow Lamination, making it ideal if you like to work efficiently or combine treatments.

It is important to always tint the lashes or brows and finish the treatment with Lift & Love.

To get started with this technique, we have developed an attractively priced Online 1-Shot Lift Course, so you can begin well prepared and with full confidence.
