Not sure about the right processing time? Or wondering why your results aren’t quite what you expected? In this blog, we answer the 4 most frequently asked Lash Lift questions of the past week — so you’ll always achieve the best possible results.

1. Why Are the Results Suddenly Disappointing?

Are all your Lash Lift results suddenly underwhelming, even though you usually achieve perfect lifts? As an experienced Lash Lift specialist, you can tell right away when something’s off. Chances are, the issue lies with your products — they may be expired or have been open too long.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Mrs.Highbrow Lash Lift pump bottles: Once opened, they’re good for 3 to 4 months.

  • Using single-use sachets? These must be used within 24 hours and always stored tightly sealed.

Pro tip: Keep all your Lash Lift products in a cool, preferably dark place to maintain their quality.

2. Why Didn’t the Lash Lift Take Properl

Did you have a client whose Lash Lift treatment delivered disappointing results? There could be several reasons:

  • Incorrect shield size: If the lash lift shield is too large for the client’s lash length, the lashes won’t curl properly.

  • Insufficient processing time: For normal lashes, the recommended processing time is 6–7 minutes; for coarse lashes, 8 minutes or more.

  • Lash condition: The client’s lashes may be too short and/or too coarse for a successful lift. A minimum lash length of 4 millimeters is required.

If the issue is due to point 1 or 2, you can repeat the treatment using a smaller shield size and a processing time of 2 to 3 minutes per cream.

Not enough curl in the lashes? Repeat the treatment using a smaller shield size.

3. How Do I Know If the Lotions Have Processed Long Enough?

To determine whether Lotion 1 (the Lifting Cream) has processed long enough during a lash lift, you can perform the lash check. This check helps you assess whether the lashes have become flexible enough to move on to the next step.

How to perform the lash check

1. After the recommended processing time (depending on lash type: very fine to fine lashes: 4–5 minutes; normal lashes: 5–6 minutes; coarse lashes: 6–8 minutes), gently grip a single lash with a pointed tweezer.

2. Carefully bend the lash downward.

3. If the lash bends easily and shows no resistance, the Lifting Cream has processed sufficiently.

4. If the lash still feels stiff, leave the Lifting Cream on for 1–2 minutes longer and repeat the lash check.

This method allows you to tailor the treatment precisely to the condition of the lashes — which is key for achieving optimal results.

It's a great idea to tint the lashes in combination with a Lash Lift. You can use Hybrid Dye Midnight for this, but make sure to use it with 3% Oxidant. Let the tint process for about 3 minutes.

4. The Curl Is Gone After Just 3 Days. Can I Repeat The Treatment?

If the Lash Lift has already dropped after just three days, it’s understandable that you’re considering repeating the treatment — after all, you want to keep your client happy! In certain cases, it is possible to repeat the Lash Lift within a few days, as long as the proper precautions are taken.

Key Points to Keep in Mind:

  • Always assess the condition of the lashes before repeating the treatment.

  • Use a smaller shield size to achieve a stronger curl.

  • Reduce the processing time to 2–3 minutes per lotion, as the lashes have already been exposed to chemicals.

  • If the lashes were tinted, you’ll likely need to re-tint them after the repeat treatment.

  • Ensure lashes are clean, dry, and free of oils before starting again.

  • Never re-lift if the lashes show signs of damage, frizzing, or overprocessing.
