Soft Wax is a favourite among brow specialists thanks to the precision it offers. Ideal for creating clean lines and perfectly defined brows. Discover how to use Soft Wax and when to choose Soft Wax or Film Wax.

Soft Wax, also known as Strip Wax, is a professional wax applied in thin layers to the skin and removed using a wax strip. The wax adheres to both the hair and skin, effectively removing even fine hairs.

This strong adhesion, combined with the ability to apply the wax in thin layers, makes Soft Wax a popular choice for creating clean, defined brow contours.

What Are the Benefits of Soft Wax?

For brow professionals, Soft Wax offers several benefits:

  • Clean, precise lines. The wax can be applied in very thin layers, allowing you to follow the desired brow shape with precision.

  • Strong adhesion. Soft Wax effectively grips even fine hairs for a clean, defined result.

  • Efficient application. There is no need to wait for the wax to harden. It can be removed immediately using a wax strip.

  • Precise application. Mrs.Highbrow Precision Wax Sticks allow you to apply the wax exactly where needed.

How to Use Soft Wax for Eyebrows

With the right technique, you can achieve precise results using Soft Wax.

Step 1. Heat the wax. Heat the Soft Wax directly in its tin using the Wax Heater Large.

Step 2. Prepare the skin. Cleanse the brow area with Get Set Pre Epilation Gel and pat the skin completely dry.

Step 3. Apply a thin layer. Check the wax temperature and use a Precision Wax Stick to apply a thin layer in the direction of hair growth.

Step 4. Remove with a strip. Place a wax strip over the wax, hold the skin taut and remove the strip quickly against the direction of hair growth, keeping it close and parallel to the skin.

Step 5. Soothe the skin. Remove any remaining wax residue with oil and apply Cool Down After Epilation Gel to cool and soothe the skin and help reduce redness.

Step 6. Perfect the shape with tweezers. Finish by removing any remaining hairs with tweezers. Even with effective waxing, hairs lying flat against the skin or short stubble may not always be removed.

Soft Wax vs. Film Wax: What's the Difference?

The main difference between Soft Wax and Film Wax (Hard Wax) is how they adhere to the skin and how they are removed.

Soft Wax Film Wax
Removed using wax strips Removed without strips
Adheres to both hair and skin Adheres mainly to hair
Strong grip, even on fine hairs Less adhesion to the skin
Ideal for sharp, defined brow contours Generally gentler on the skin
Not recommended for sensitive skin Often a better choice for sensitive skin

  • Soft Wax adheres more strongly to the skin than Film Wax. This allows you to remove even fine hairs and create exceptionally clean, defined lines. However, it also places more stress on the skin.

  • For this reason, Soft Wax is not recommended for clients with sensitive or delicate skin. In these cases, Film Wax is generally a gentler option, provided the skin is suitable for waxing.

  • Choosing the right wax depends not only on the desired result, but also on your client's skin condition.

1. Why Do Brow Specialists Use Soft Wax?
