PowerStain is an innovative liquid dye that offers more than just hair colouring. But when should you consciously choose this formula? Discover five situations in which PowerStain is the ideal choice for speed, skin staining and professional results.
1. For a visible skin stain.
PowerStain is a liquid dye that colours not only the brow hairs but also the skin beneath. This creates brows that appear fuller, sharper and more clearly defined.
Mixing ratio
To mix, use Hybrid Dye Developer. The standard ratio is 2:1 (two parts colour, one part Developer).
For a stronger skin stain, work with 3 parts colour and 1 part Developer for greater pigment impact on the skin.
Keep in mind
As with Brow Henna and traditional Hybrid Dye:
-
On oily skin, the skin stain fades faster and develops less intensely.
-
There must always be some brow hairs present for optimal adherence. It will not work on completely hairless brows.
PowerStain remains, at its core, a hair dye with added skin support. It is not a replacement for permanent make-up. Its strength lies in the combination of both hair and skin impact.
2. When you are short on time
In a busy salon schedule, you want to work efficiently without compromising on quality or results. PowerStain is developed for professionals who want to combine speed with control.
Why PowerStain works here:
-
Efficient application: the liquid formula applies quickly and evenly
-
Time-saving: after just 10 minutes, you will see a clear skin stain
-
For more skin definition, leave the formula to develop for up to 15 minutes for added intensity.
3. In combination with Brow Lamination
PowerStain can be safely applied after step 2 of the Brow Lamination process.
As laminated hairs absorb pigment more quickly, a shorter development time is essential.
-
Leave PowerStain on for 3–5 minutes to prevent over-darkening
-
When working with Brow Lamination, use a 3% oxidant for a softer result
-
Choose a lighter shade such as Desert Sand
-
Monitor the development time carefully to avoid the hairs becoming too dark
Why PowerStain works well in this situation:
-
The liquid formula flows easily between lifted hairs
-
Creates a clean, defined finish
-
Enhances and sharpens the newly shaped brows
Important:
When used directly after lamination, the focus is on colouring the hairs. You will not achieve a strong skin stain.
Subtly tinted hairs combined with Brow Lamination can be enhanced with a sharp lower line for extra definition. Tip: use the Highlighter Pencil applied with the flat Highlighter Brush.
4. When you want a cooler or warmer tone.
PowerStain is ideal when you want precise control over colour direction. Thanks to its liquid formula, shades can be mixed accurately to create either cooler or warmer results.
- For an ashy, cool finish, choose Cool Mist.
- To deepen or intensify the cool tone further, add a drop of Velvet Noir.
- If you prefer a warmer look, Ginger Snap is an excellent choice.
PowerStain is perfect for custom mixing. By combining shades, you can create fully tailored colours matched to skin tone, hair colour and desired intensity.
This allows you to work with bespoke shades rather than standard colours. Exactly what you need as a professional.
Left: Coffee Bean mixed with Cool Mist for a more ashy result without darkening the colour.
Right: Ginger Snap added to Muddy Mocha for a warm brown tone.
5. For airbrushing.
PowerStain is particularly suitable for airbrush techniques. Its thin, liquid consistency makes it perfectly atomisable and ensures an even application.
Why PowerStain is ideal for airbrushing:
-
Only a liquid formula is suitable for airbrush devices
-
Fast and even pigment build-up
-
A clean finish without patchiness or product build-up
For airbrush use, mix PowerStain with the Airbrush Activator in a 1:1 ratio.
Tip:
Work in thin layers and gradually build the result. Allow each layer to dry briefly before applying the next.
