And we’re more than happy to answer them, because every answer helps you grow as a specialist. That’s why we’re sharing last week’s 7 most frequently asked questions, along with practical tips you can put into action right away.

1. Red Glow After Brow Henna.

Client Question
“I treated a client with Brow Henna in Ash Brown, but the result turned out really red. What went wrong?”

Mrs.Highbrow’s Answer
When Henna Brows show a red glow, even if a cool shade like Ash Brown was used, the culprit is usually self-tanner or spray tan. The warm undertones of tanning products can react with the henna, causing the brows to look reddish, both on the skin and the hairs.

2. Brow Lamination + Hybrid Dye.

Client Question
“I used Hybrid Dye Oat, but the brow hairs turned out really dark. I had done a Brow Lamination first. How is this possible?”

Mrs.Highbrow’s Answer
After a Brow Lamination, the hairs become more porous and absorb pigment much faster and more intensely. That is why even a light shade can turn out darker than expected. To avoid this, let the dye sit for only about three minutes, and accept that it will not leave a stain on the skin. For an even softer result, mix the dye preferably with the 3% Oxidant, which makes the color less likely to develop too dark.

3. Henna VS. Hybrid Dye: What's The Difference?

Client Question
“What is the difference between Hybrid Dye and Brow Henna?”

Mrs.Highbrow’s Answer
Brow Henna is a powder that is mixed with water or with Treatment Enhancer for extra adhesion, while Hybrid Dye is a gel color that is activated with Developer. Both treatments give the same result: beautifully tinted brow hairs with a stain on the skin. The choice simply depends on which product you prefer to work with.

4. No Curl After A Lash Lift.

Client Question
"I have been working with your products for a long time, but lately the Lash Lifts don’t seem to work as well. I even had to redo a few clients.”

Mrs.Highbrow’s Answer
If you usually achieve the most beautiful Lash Lifts but suddenly notice that the results are not the same, even with your regular clients, it is not your skills that are the problem — it is the products. Either they have been open too long or stored in a place that is too warm, which makes them lose their strength. After opening, Lash Lift pump bottles are good for up to three months, while the Lash & Brow Lift sachets should be used within 24 hours.

5. Hybrid Dye Fades Quickly.

Client Question
“My client called: the Hybrid Dye disappeared from the skin after only two days. How is that possible?”

Mrs.Highbrow’s Answer
Sometimes Hybrid Dye does fade quickly, especially when a client has very few natural brow hairs. The dye will color the hairs, and the skin stain is a nice extra. But without enough hairs to hold the color, the effect on the skin will be minimal and short-lived. Be honest with your client and discuss alternatives such as Powder Brows or a good brow pencil.

6. Not All Hairs Come Out During Waxing.

Client Question
“I use your Film Wax, but not all the hairs come out, so I still have to tweeze. What am I doing wrong?”

Mrs.Highbrow’s Answer
No need to panic if not every single hair comes out in one go during waxing. That doesn’t mean you are doing anything wrong. Our Film Wax grabs almost everything, but extremely short hairs or those lying flat against the skin can sometimes remain.
Tip: A little talcum powder makes the hairs less slippery so the wax can grip them better. Also make sure the wax isn’t too cool. And remember: for the perfect finishing touch, tweezers will always be your best friend.

7. My Old Henna Looks Much Darker.

Client Question
“When I opened a new jar of Brow Henna, the powder looked much lighter than the older jar in the same color. Is this a manufacturing error?”

Mrs.Highbrow’s Answer
No, this is not a mistake. Henna oxidizes over time as soon as it comes into contact with oxygen. That is why the powder becomes darker than when you first opened the jar. This doesn’t immediately mean the product is unusable, but always check the expiration date and make sure to close the jar tightly after use. Once opened, Brow Henna remains good for about six months.
